PRODUCTS
1. Why do cracks sometimes appear in the nail varnish?
This may be caused by using a flexible base coat with a top coat that is too hard, or by leaving the top coat to cure for too long. Sometimes cracks may appear on the nail after applying gel to hybrid manicures.
2. Why do air bubbles form?
Air bubbles in the products may be caused by incorrect preparation of the nail plate, incorrect application of the polish, or failure to observe the curing time. Another reason may be weakening of the nail plate due to incorrect removal of hybrid polish or gel.
3. What is the dispersion layer?
It is a sticky layer that forms during the curing of hybrid nail varnishes. It bonds the individual layers together. It occurs completely naturally. It is not caused by the curing of the varnish.
4. Why does the base coat feel rubbery and cause the polish to peel off the nail in a single sheet?
This may be due to the nail not being properly matted, or the absence of a primer, or the use of an unsuitable primer. Sometimes, the polish peeling off is caused by applying the base coat too quickly over the primer, or by mixing products from different brands in the same manicure.
5. Why doesn’t the colour apply evenly and why does it form lumps?
You should not apply the base coat in layers that are too thick, nor should you cure the product on the nail for too long. The cause may also be a layer of colour that is too thick or choosing a product that is not compatible with the lamp you are using.
6. Why does hybrid nail varnish chip?
This happens due to the nail plate not being properly prepared, insufficient buffing and/or degreasing, or a layer of polish that is too thick. The reason may also be that the products have been chosen incorrectly.
7. How can I achieve a matt finish on my nails that won’t get dirty?
Matt nail polishes are more porous, so they can get dirty more quickly. We recommend washing your nails with soap or wiping them with a cotton bud soaked in nail polish remover.
8. Why aren’t gel nails durable and why do they break?
Gel nails may break due to incorrect use of products, poor nail structure or a nail plate that has not been properly prepared for the treatment.
9. How do you choose the right primer?
FIRST BOND – PRIMER ACID is recommended for so-called ‘problematic’ nail plates with a high oil content.
FIRST BOND – PRIMER NON-ACID is recommended for all types of nail plate, even those that are severely damaged or weakened by prolonged nail styling.
FIRST BOND – XBOND, thanks to the addition of a monomer, significantly improves the adhesion of the natural nail plate with every application. It removes moisture and impurities from the nail plate, whilst also providing excellent priming and ensuring the design adheres well to subsequent layers. Recommended for all nail types, including problematic nails and even those that are severely damaged or weakened by prolonged styling.
10. How long should I cure the product under the lamp?
We recommend curing according to the following schedule:
- base coat, coloured hybrid gel, gel:
36W LED lamp – 60 s
UV lamp – 180 s
- top coat
36W LED lamp – 60 s
UV lamp – 120 s.
11. Why might the gel not cure?
There may be several reasons – curing time too short, a lamp that is too weak or unsuitable, a layer of product that is too thick, or the hand not held correctly under the lamp.
Depending on the Yokaba nail polish you choose, the recommended curing time is specified in each product description.
12. Why does the gel cause a burning sensation during curing?
Under the influence of ultraviolet light, a reaction takes place between the polymers, monomers and photoinitiators contained in the gel. This causes the molecules to bond, move at high speed and collide, resulting in a brief burning sensation. Greater discomfort may occur if too much primer is applied or if the nail plate is weakened.
13. What is the difference between nail polish remover and acetone?
Remover is gentler because it contains lanolin, which protects the nail plate from excessive drying out. We recommend using Swift Remover UV/LED, which is based on a vegan formula and effectively removes hybrid polish, gel and acrylic. Due to its gentleness, it is also recommended for people whose natural nail plate is particularly prone to damage.
14. How should the brushes be cleaned?
Do not clean the brushes with a cleaner. We recommend washing brushes after using acrylic gel and acrylic with Swift Remover UV/LED. You should also store the brushes properly – in a separate place, e.g. in a special bamboo case by Yokaba.
15. Which drill bit is suitable for beginners?
Bits are designed for removing hybrid and gel polish, as well as for shaping the nail plate and cuticles, and differ from one another depending on their intended use. A bit with a red stripe is an excellent choice for beginners.
You can gain comprehensive knowledge by attending the ‘Nail Drill Manicure’ training course at the Yokaba Training Centre.
16. Are Yokaba products 100% vegan?
The vast majority of our products contain no ingredients of animal origin. Each product includes a detailed description of its ingredients, and vegan products are clearly labelled as such on their packaging. They also carry a Vegan certificate.
17. Are Yokaba cosmetics natural?
When developing our formulations, we focus on the careful selection of raw materials to ensure the highest possible product quality. Yokaba cosmetics are based on a high proportion of naturally derived ingredients.
18. Is the product packaging biodegradable?
We endeavour to choose packaging that is environmentally friendly and recyclable, such as HDPE, 95 per cent of which is recycled.
19. Are Yokaba cosmetics manufactured in Poland?
Yokaba is a wholly Polish brand. Both our administrative and production facilities are located within Poland.
